Reclaimed Wood, Beautiful, Profitable and Green
We started work this week for a new client, Real Antique Wood, located in Irvington, NJ. This is an interesting client because of what they do and sell, but also their geography. They have some unique challenges because of where they are located.
Real Antique Wood travels around the country looking for barns, old manufacturing facilities, factories, mills and other antique structures ready to be demolished. They buy lumber, timbers, hardware and reclaim materials that can be brought back to life and reused. These timbers are old growth and have tight grain, or of species that are no longer available or have a patina from aging and weathering that makes them uniquely beautiful.
Typical customers are people looking to build or redecorate their home or office, interior designers, architects, or furniture makers.
The first thing we are working on is getting their existing web site Search Engine Optimized. SEO will allow people looking for Wide Plank Flooring or Barn Siding or Broad Hand Hewn Beams to hook up with RealAntiqueWood.com by making them highly visible to search engines.
I don’t care how great your website is, if you can not be found in a web search, the site is not doing it’s job.
We are helping them expand content and refine the message to coincide with how people are actually searching for the items they sell. That is the essence of good SEO.
Another challenge is the help the client overcome the stigma of their location. The mill is one block off route 78, a major highway with private off street parking, the quality, selection and price of the antique wood products, barn doors, siding, beams, fireplace mantel and flooring should help them overcome this challenge.
By recycling these valuable materials we are keeping them out of landfills, reducing the need to harvest new growth lumber, reducing environmental pressures and carbon emissions… pretty cool all the way around.
